Repaplex answers one question per page: should this appliance be repaired, or replaced? The Kenyan edition carries the pages of repair ranges in Kenyan shillings that three Kenyan repair businesses publish; the remaining guides, the calculator and the price data on this site are United States and Canadian market data, linked and labelled as such.

How a page is made

• Numbers come from published price guides and, where one exists, from a repair company that publishes the median of its own completed jobs together with the sample size.
• Where a source publishes ranges but no sample size — as none of the Kenyan repair businesses cited on the shilling pages does — the page reproduces the ranges as published and says so, instead of turning a range into a median.
• Where a source publishes no duration or no part-only price, the page says so instead of dressing an estimate up as data.
• Where two sources share an owner, the page prints the source’s own statement of that relationship, because figures from one operator are not two independent sources.

What this site is not

• It is not affiliated with any appliance brand and it is not a repair company. We do not repair appliances and we do not sell anything.
• It is not a quote. Prices are the figures the source cited on the page publishes: Kenyan shillings on the Kenyan pages, United States and Canadian market figures on the guides linked through to those editions. Your quote in Kenya will differ.
• It does not replace a certified technician for gas appliances, sealed refrigeration systems, or anything involving the electrical installation of a home.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong or stale, write to janos@maczko.eu with the page address and the source that contradicts it. Corrections are applied to the record, and the page is regenerated from it.
