About this site
Repaplex answers one question per page: should this appliance be repaired, or replaced? Every guide is built from a fact record — the symptom variants owners actually use, which causes are likely, what each repair costs in parts, labour and time, and the age-and-quote rule that settles the decision.
How a page is made
- Numbers come from published price guides and, where available, from repair companies that publish medians from their own completed work orders together with the sample size.
- Every figure carries its source. Where a source publishes no duration for a job, the page says so instead of dressing an estimate up as data.
- Where a source publishes no part-only price, the page says that too rather than inventing one.
- The layout follows the record: a page with a dominant wear part, a safety risk, or one repair that dwarfs the rest is deliberately structured differently from the others.
What this site is not
- It is not affiliated with any appliance brand, and it is not a repair company.
- It is not a quote. Prices are US market figures from the sources cited on each page; your own quote will differ.
- It is not a substitute for a licensed technician on gas appliances, sealed refrigeration systems, or anything involving mains wiring.
Corrections
If a figure is wrong or out of date, write to [email protected] with the page address and the source that contradicts it. Corrections are applied to the record, which re-renders the page.
